Farrukh Systems’ Page Pairer Imposition software and the ECRM StingRay wide format colour imagesetter are proving a powerful combination in the European Newspaper market. ECRM distributor Graphelectronic S.A took a ground breaking order this month, from Lambrakis Press S.A, the biggest publishing group in Greece, for four Page Pairer systems mated with StingRay 6300 models to produce digitally imposed double broadsheet (double-truck) Newspaper Paired output. This sale represents the first part of a much larger order which will culminate in a national distributed system of 8 StingRay/Page Pairer systems as well as stand-alone versions of Farrukh’s Imposition Publisher to serve the Greek market. Lambrakis Press produce the biggest selling Daily and Sunday newspapers in Greece as well as publishing the Greek editions of Marie Claire and National Geographic to mention a few of their monthly magazine titles. In justifying their purchase Lambrakis are forecasting a full return on investment within 12 months.

The order marks an early success in ECRM’s bid to win a major share of the wide format Newspaper market which is opening up with the arrival of wide format imagesetters like the StingRay 6300. There are very few output devices capable of producing double page broadsheet output and when matched with Farrukh’s Page Pairer the result is a unique system tailor made for the needs of a Newspaper production workflow.
