PRESS RELEASE
28 November 2003
Imposition Publisher PDF Native on Windows and
Client Server Announced
London, England. 28 November 2003 Farrukh Systems
announced today Imposition Publisher 4.6, a new version of
their imposition software product. This is a major upgrade as it
brings the ability to natively impose PDF files to the whole Imposition
Publisher product range including Windows and Client Server.
Imposition Publisher 4.6 brings PDF imposition to the mainstream
- available in the Macintosh, Windows and Server versions. This
is as well as retaining the proven, effective PostScript workflow.
The full power of Imposition Publisher is now available when imposing
PDF files, whether it be complex folding impositions, custom flatworks
layouts or just simple 2-up booklets.
Multi-User Client Server Option
Imposition Publisher is also available as either a standalone program
for Macintosh and Windows computers. There is also a multi-user
Client Server option, with the server program running on Windows
(NT, 2000 or XP Server) or UNIX (Solaris, SGI, Mac OS X or Linux).
Clients can be a mixture of Macintosh or Windows computers. All
important settings (print marks, device settings, etc.) are stored
on the server, so in a multi-user environment all clients use the
same settings.
Core Imposition Publisher Features
Imposition Publisher version 4.6 is built on a firm and proven
foundation and includes all the best, familiar behaviour of previous
versions of Imposition Publisher. It is an ideal choice if you are
printing more than one page at a time, whether you are outputting
to plate, to film or to a digital output device.
Intuitive User Interface
Straightforward Impositions. Impositions are independent of the
pages being imposed, the print marks and the output settings. This
means that you only need to maintain a small set of impositions
and can often reuse impositions for different output devices.
Automatic page reordering. It is only necessary to define the page
ordering on one side of an imposition. The back is numbered automatically.
This imposition can be used whatever the number of pages in the
job, whether 4 or 400 pages. The page order on the extra plates
is calculated automatically at print time, based on the number of
pages in the job, even for saddle stitched and Coming and Going
print jobs.
Minimum user input required. The intelligent drivers ensure that
the maximum information is extracted from the input PostScript or
PDF files. No need to enter the finished trim page size, as this
is calculated from the position of the crop marks in PostScript
files or the TrimBox entry in PDF files.
Easily updated. Drivers are regularly updated to accommodate new
Desktop Publishing software, operating systems and printer driver
changes. The most up to date drivers are available from the Farrukh
Systems web site.
