PRESS RELEASE
1st May 2000
for Immediate Release
Mac OS v4.1 released for Drupa
v4.5 Previewed
Linux Server Version also Announced
London, England. -1st May 2000- A new version of Imposition Publisher,
Version 4.1 will be officially launched by Farrukh Systems at Drupa
later this month.
Version 4.1 adds to the already powerful features of Imposition
Publisher with improvements to ‘Flatwork’ and an improved Printing
interface that more closely follows the new Macintosh OS9 ‘look
and feel’. Version 4.1 also has improvements to the Print Mark options
to allow any printing mark to be defined, customised and positioned
anywhere on the output.
Farrukh Systems will also be previewing Imposition Publisher Version
4.5 which is due for release later this summer. Version 4.5 will
be the first commercial imposition software to offer a fully automated
Imposition workflow. Repetitive imposition jobs can be defined and
managed via hot folders to completely eliminate operator intervention.
The use of hot folders also makes this feature easy to integrate
into other workflow environments, for example… the input folder
can be linked in with the output from a Preflighting software package.
Similarly the output folder can be defined as the input folder for
an OPI Server or RIP input folder.
Both Imposition Publisher V4.1 and V4.5 will be shown for the
first time at Drupa (May 18th-31st) on Farrukh Systems stand no.
9B26-07b. Version 4.1 is due to start shipping on July 1st 2000
with a suggested list price of £ 1,495.00 for the Personal version
and £ 2,995.00 for the Studio version.
Also being shown at Drupa is a new Linux server version of Imposition
Publisher. The Linux version has the same functionality as the highly
successful Windows NT/Windows 2000 versions and other UNIX versions
(SUN, SGI and Mac OS X). The move to Linux follows in the footsteps
of other Pre-Press software such as Helios’ Ethershare OPI and the
recent announcement by Adobe that a Server version of Acrobat and
Acrobat Distiller would be made available for the Linux OS.
