PRESS RELEASE
1st December 1999
for Immediate Release
Driver Development for Three Major Pre-Press Workflow
Solutions
London, England. -1st December 1999- Farrukh Systems have completed
driver development for three major Pre-Press workflow solutions in
the last month. Users of Helios’ Ethershare OPI and PDF Handshake,
Xinet’s FullPress OPI and LDR Fusion workflow based systems and users
of the RAMPAGE RIP solutions can all now utilise Imposition Publisher
as a fully integrated imposition software solution. Also, as part
of this development strategy, the recently released CelebraNT PDF
workflow solution from FujiFilm is now fully supported by Imposition
Publisher.
These new drivers are part of a growing trend by Farrukh Systems
to make Imposition Publisher more appealing for users of integrated
workflow solutions, particularly with the move to PDF based solutions.
Traditionally Imposition Publisher has been a ‘front end’ imposition
solution whereby the imposition process takes place on the originating
PostScript files before being sent to the RIP. With these new drivers,
users of Fusion, RAMPAGE and CelebraNT can now Rip the PDF and/or
PostScript files first and then supply low resolution preview pages
of the Ripped files to Imposition Publisher to perform the imposition
processing. This has the advantage of allowing pages to be Ripped
without having to wait for all the pages of an Imposition to be
completed. It also allows for last minute changes to individual
pages without having to re-Rip to entire job.
With the UNIX and Windows NT Client Server versions, Imposition
Publisher can be seamlessly integrated with virtually any Server
based Pre-Press workflow solution. These latest developments complement
the recent announcement by Farrukh Systems to support the Mac OSX
operating system for its Client Server based solutions. Both Xinet
FullPress and Helios Ethershare OPI have also adopted this platform
in recent months.
