Installing the USB Dongle Drivers on Windows
If you have problems with the DK3 USB dongle on Windows, it may be that
the automatic dongle driver installation has failed. Follow these steps
to install the dongle drivers manually.
- Unplug the dongle
- Uninstall the DK3 Drivers
(Settings, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, DK3 Drivers.)
- Install the DK3 driver manually
Run the program DK3Win.exe (found in the Imposition Publisher
installation folder, usually C:\Program Files\Imposition Publisher 4.6).
Follow the installer, clicking Next to complete the install. Check in
Control Panel, DESkey to see that the install was successful. In the
File Versions pane, you should see an entry for the DK3 Driver.
- Plug in the dongle
The Found New Hardware Wizard should appear.
Leave the Install the software automatically choice and click
Next. After a few seconds this screen should appear:
(A Windows system restore point allows you to restore your system back
to the point before the dongle driver was installed.)

When the driver install is completed click Finish.
- To check the dongle is recognised correctly, look in Device Manager
(Right click My Computer, select Properties, then select the Hardware
tab, then the Device Manager button.) You should see an entry named
DESkey with a sub-entry of DK3usb DESKey.
This entry should disappear when the dongle is removed and automatically
appear when it is plugged in.
The DK3 dongle drivers are now successfully installed and the dongle
should be recognised by Imposition Publisher.
If the dongle is still not recognised in Device Manager, try installing
the latest DK3 driver from the DESkey Downloads page.
