Introduction ==================== Esko Graphics Media Saver is a media saving application running under Windows NT server. It is designed to work seamlessly alongside Esko Graphics's RipMate RIP and DotMate image setters. It automatically intercepts PostScript print jobs, analyses the page size and colour information, then arranges the pages to fill the output sheet in the most efficient manner. Media Saver uses the core engine of Farrukh Systems Imposition Publisher NT Client-Server product. It is able to handle PostScript files from over 100 applications, including all the major Desktop Publishing and Word Processing packages. 2. System Requirements =========================== Media Saver will run comfortably on any Windows NT machine running Esko Graphics's RipMate software. The installation uses 2.5MB of disk space. Memory ------ In use, Media Saver's memory requirements change dynamically according to the number of channels and the complexity of the files being processed. Hard Disk Space --------------- Media Saver needs temporary disk space approximately equal to size of the files being processed. The final output files may frequently be smaller than the sum of the sizes of the input files as Media Saver will remove any unnecessary PostScript information, such as duplicate fonts.
